DS On TV!

Maybe the signal could be boosted with aluminum antenna and some magnets. Try it and see what you get.

I remember doing something similar to this with my brother's Sega Gamegear. We got it to show up just like that on a portable tv.

For some reason this reminds me of THE RING... you know, wacky TV issues and such...

I don't quite see why the DS would transmit an NTSC analog television signal at all... could this be a HOAX?

I think if they'd make anything up, they'd make up a story where the signal was nice and clear

Well, Ben, to be fair, it's not NTSC because there is no color. Black and white TV signals are the same around the world (the only difference being refresh rate). If you hook up a 60Hz PAL signal to an NTSC TV, you get a perfectly clear signal, but it's not in color. It does look like color is lost in the transmission, probably because they didn't use NTSC or PAL to encode it. Then again, it does sound fairly crazy.

there is no color because that is a black and white tv

and most pal signals are still 50Hz and they wont work you would get a scrambled picture

and you do get color with 60Hz it matches up with a paticualr newer verson of NTSC

I finally have my NDS now its time to do some experimenting

I think ill try it on my living room tv its good at picking up weak signels

Theory 1: Construct a large antenna to practically surround the DS.

Theory 2: Open up the DS and tap the tv's RF input directly on to the DS' output antenna (electronically speaking).

That might not be necessary...

If it may have peripherals for wireless TV-out, it stands to reason that one of the output pins may be video or RF...

We should check that before opening up a $150 US system.
