Putting Windows 95 CD Version on floppies

Me and my dad recently aquired a 486 laptop on eBay, and we were going to put Win 95 on it, but turns out it doesn't have a cd drive and all we have are the cd versions of Windows 95.

So here i'm asking if its possible to take the Windows 95 CD-ROM and put it on floppies. I'm assuming the disks have to be made as image files in WinImage because of the DMF file format.

I have both the original retail upgrade version and the OEM OSR2 version.

Any help?

Im sure you can, as I have win 98 on Floppies.

I remember seeing 95 on floppies in our house. It's about 20-30 floppies, so you will be paying attention when you do the installation.

I believe that Microsoft did release a version of Windows 95 that came on 19 floppies. I just want to know how to take my CD version and put it on floppies.

Of course, there has probably been a lot of files stripped on the floppy version.

It would be easier to unplug the hard drive from a somewhat old desktop PC and replace it with the laptop's hard drive with an adapter. (the hard drive in the laptop should be standard, most I have seen are.) Install 95 OEM OSR2 from the CD to the laptop drive. When it's done, put the drive back in the laptop, go back to your good compy and search for drivers.

Ok, i'll try that when I get the lappy. Or i'll just install WFW 3.11. Depends how lazy I am when it arrives.

Piece of cake.
Look in the /Win95 folder of the CD, it ought to have a load of CAB files. They should be small enough to fit one on a floppy. Put the setup bootstrapper and exes on one or two disks and the cabs on the rest.
