that is actually a pretty normal thing with first party controllers so you could have a driver that recognizes all psx controllers as 1st party controllers

Eh, good job, but dumb idea.

Alright first of all you have to get the drivers for the USB to PSX Converter too. The ones on the included CD-ROM don't work at all, I own one. I'm gonna try this because first of all I'm a hacker and two because it's just plain COOL!

Though I disagree with the Jeff dude too, and I agree with you for the most part, couple of things.

1. Your converter must be really crappy, mine doesn't even need the CD, the drivers built in work fine.

2. "I'm a hacker" No you aren't. If you were a hacker, this stuff would be boring to you. You messed around with some parts - thats all.

nice, but it could have more, you only used 5 data lines from the card, right? that leaves 4 for whatever status from anything you may want(health, cpu, ram, game stats), i got like 10 of these off the microsolutions factory closeout, u got a copy of the board pinout?

one day i just wanted an easy hack to let me play emulators with a controller i had, i wasnt going to start messing around with other crazy stuff. i have a tendancy to abandon projects when they become too complicated to do in one night

some of the unused data lines are used for the second controller (unimplemented, but i like it that the option is open). you can get up to 5 controllers running off of one parallel port with use of a multitap + splitter.

as far as pinout, i found myself the pinout for a standard DB25 serial connector, then traced the pins back to the board with a multimeter. i didnt write anything down, but its not hard to do it yourself.

Hacking is pretty complex, the hardest part is not getting caught while trying to hack a network, such as my school's. We have an intern who is a genius, he can own the excrament outa ne hacker who trys to hack the network :/
