50/60 hrtz childishness

Post by jeroen »

Ok i'm sick of 50/60 hrtz. It's so childish. I mean come on. But I remember reading a good idea for it. Since most pal tv's these days can use 60 hrtz but not all. Why not put a 50/60 hrtz switch on the console? :P

K who's with my. (Also could a mod make this a poll on who likes the idea and who not?)

Ps. remember this is not my idea. I read it somewere but forgot were!

You're first language is german, is it not? Hmm, the translator must be bad because I'm having a hard time figuring out what you're saying. Are you talking about region-free videogame systems? If you are, it would be nice for the systems to have a PAL/NCST switch.

Dutch actually. Well your getting close. The idea's more of putting a switch on the console so pal users can use a full screen too. And not have slower games.

Um...resolution is completely different from refresh rate. For example all modern consoles let you select it in hard ware.

Well, not exactly. Actually, the 50mHz-60mHz consoles were designed as a tool to stop importing, because companies will lose money, even under the same name. For example, let's say I wanted to play KH II, and I could read kanji, so I import it from Japan. Although Sony profits as a whole, SOA loses money to SOJp, because they are individual sales. So in reality, the makers of these consoles really don't WANT to put on these switches for economic reasons.

Although there are mods that allow you to do as such. I've seen ones on how to mod a SNES, and I'm sure there are others. Good luck should you attempt it!

Yeah but they can leave the lockout in. It's more like I don't want the letterbox effect that 50 hrtz has. 60hrtz doesn't have this and the consoles run faster. So their original speed. I want 60hrtz for those reasons.

Ya, I understand why you want it; hell, I want it, too for those same reasons. I was just saying why companies would not put one in, meaning for all us who want one, we gotta mod our systems.
