Ok im sick of everyone saying the sony ripped the motion technolgy off nintendo nintendo didnt invent it its been around for awile there just the first to use it as for pretty much the same controller design as the ps2 I personlly say why ruin a good thing I love the ps2 controller and even if sony was ripping of nintendo it wouldnt be the first time its happend like look at it this way if you say that you might was well say Nintendo ripped of Atari for making Consoles And about the rumble technolgy who really cares its not that big of a deal of its gone sure I liked it but O well. And I think there not using it because they got sued for using it before so did micro soft but microsoft but shares of the comaany that sued them sony tried to fight them and lost I think the new controller is good and if you say the ps3 is way to expensive think of this your also getting a blue ray player which are currently 1000$ so in a way this is a good deal ps3+blu ray 499$ vs 1000$ and just blu ray I know what I want

Look at it this way.
<img src="http://img193.imageshack.us/img193/8626/winlogo6dp.gif"> Ripped off <img src="http://img193.imageshack.us/img193/678/macos0ee.gif">
And yet most of you happily use Windows.
Don't complain just because Sony is using similar technologies to Nintendo; that's very hypocritical when you concider the above statement. Heck I could say Nintendo ripped off Xavix and mouse companies like Logitech for their "innovative" pointing device in 3d space technology.
EDIT: Darn you 7805!

EDIT 2- I think the PS3 looks good in jet black; much better than 360 white.
EDIT3- No offense to 360 fanboys.

for me it comes down to 2 things
#1.price
#2.quality/creativity of games
and in my opinion, save for a few system exclusive titles the wii wins in both cases, it will have some of the most awesome games of this console cycle. plus i just hate sony and no love for M$ either for that matter, they both have some games i want but i aint about to pay 300+ for much of anything let alone a game system

I don't care if Sony ripped off Nintendo actually, because I don't give a damn about PS3. I'm getting the Wii not only because I'm a Ninty fanboy, but also for several reasons:
The controller: The one handed thingy was cool, and the new shell is a sexy SNES pad! What's better then a sexy white and blue SNES pad?
Cost: I'm not willing to pay almost all of the money i've saved for a frickin' game console.
HDTV: I don't have one, why do I need compatibility for it?
Retro games: I don't have a NES or any games for NES, so I'd love to be able to catch up on what I missed since I wasn't alive in the 80s.
Sexyness: All of it is just plain sexy!
For me, the Xbox 360 and PS3 just aren't my 'style'. Besides, if I ever wanted to play PS3, my Sony-fanboy brother is getting one anyways.

I'd imagine right now you wish you were a cuttlefish...

SONY DID NOT RIP OFF WII
well the good book of the Lord says seek and you will find. well seek I did and so I did find. http://ps3.ign.com/articles/705/705934p1.html just take a look here and see for yourself. the ps3 tilt sinsitivity is not a ripoff of Wii at all , it simply was not implemented yet is all.
the core system has no hdmi but if you can afford a big Hi-def tv and are that picky about your video quality than why don't you go buy a premium system. the 20gb standard Hdd will be nice for gamesaves. no memory stick slots, big deal, seriously how many of you actually ever used an xbox memory card
. sure the extra $100 is not great but if you think about it FREE ONLINE, I mean a 1 year subscription to xbox live costs what $50, after 2 years that extra $100 will have paid itsself off.
Now that I have finished I will stress the oint one more time TO ALL NINTENDO FANBOYS SONY DID NOT STEAL THE WII'S CONTROLLER IDEA, SONY HAS BEEN WORKING ON IT LONGER THAN NINTENDO
[EDIT]
the ps3 controller tilt feature recieved good reviews when playing warhawk

though I do believe that sony only went through with this because the Wii was accepted pretty well, Sony has been working with this for longer than nintendo. The analog triggers are nothing new either they go all the way back to the sega saturn, as does the analog stick. http://membres.lycos.fr/segasaturn/imag ... logPad.gifSony had experimentations and partnerships with motion-sensitive controllers (the same as it had plans before Xbox Live to do what Xbox Live does before Microsoft brought its product out), but the question still remains as to whether SCE would have bothered had Nintendo not come up with its gaming "revolution."

the difference is that the ps3 sisitivity is not meant to be the same as the wii's it is not the primary controll and it is not for playing tennis or playing the brushing your teeth simulator. I think a next gen katamari would be fun with the tilt and so would a monkey ball type game.As for the brand-new six degrees of freedom via its tilt sensitivity, Warhawk was the only game on display that currently makes use of the technology but it seems to work very well. Granted, being as Warhawk is a flight game and controlling a ship's yaw, pitch and such are never instant, it's difficult to say how the pad's freeform control will work in other titles, but it plays great with Warhawk.
Gamespot thinks so tooWarhawk is one of the games that supports the tilt sensor, and it feels surprisingly tight and easy to use. Flying the plane by tilting the controller is very intuitive.
-XPCWe also managed to bump into Criterion's Alex Ward at Sony's grand unveiling, and he said he was really excited about the controller, saying that he "can really see how it fits in his games." We imagine a Burnout game can't be too far behind.

finially, people see the light!
even if i was the same who's to say they both didtn come up wit hthe idea independantly. The telephone was invented by two separate people but bell made it to the patent office first.
I agree with triton, the wii remote games may (notice the empahsis on MAY) be absoltly terrible and sony's may be better
new technolgies should lie in the hands of the people who can utilise them best, as of yet we cant tell whether thats sony or nintendo so everyone stop whining
s0ny hax s0ny hax!!11!1! (joke)
