My question is but this.Lucretius wrote:What does one say? Sure, the graphics look great. And? I'm interested in a solid plot and taking multiplayer farther...everything else is fluff.
Why the plot?
Its a first person shooter - you don't play them to get into the story line. Thats what an RPG is for. You play a first person shooter to headshot some computerized or human n00bs, just like you hide your pancakes so I don't steal them.

Yes, I'm Jeff. There you have it.

well, I must say, though, that the gameplay in Halo is incredible. Yes, it's not very innovative, but just the way it plays in multiplayer and single player is undoubtedly good. If you don't think so, then that's fine, you're entitled to your opinion, but I know a good game when I play one, and the Halo games are definitely good games
...
whenever Halo 3 comes out, it'll most likely meet all the high expectations for it with incredible graphics, an intense single player experience, and an even better multiplayer experience, if possible
.
Anyway, I'm more concerned with the Wii right now....it looks very promising, IMHO

Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

I sort of agree with you more. The graphics = good. Intenseness = good. Online = good. Thank you for seeing where I'm coming from, I shall spare your pancakes.Gamelver wrote:well, I must say, though, that the gameplay in Halo is incredible. The original Halo was awesome even without xbox live support. The second one's campaign wasn't even close to the first one, but the multiplayer made up for it.
After a while I became so sick of playing it though, but a new version sounds awesome. Don't think I'll buy it thought, since that includes buying a 360. Or I could just wait until it's obsolete.

Yeah I have to say the graphics are boarderline theatrical movie. The thing I'd like to see is, more choices in playable classes. In Halo 2 you go to choose either spartan or elite. I'd like it where you can get Brute, jackel, and hunter. That's just one thing I'd like.
Another idea is team campain. In the campain you can only have a max of 2 players, then you have the NPC marines or elite/grunts. If you could do a campain over a lan with 2-16 players, think of that. It'd be more like war and get people who don't have Xbox-live a feel for what it's like.
Though I'd like those additions to the game I doubt they worked them into Halo3.

I am a geek.
It still makes me really glad that I bought my 360

I'm guessing you don't own a 360... that is what gameplay on the 360 looks like on a HDTV. Infact it looks a little subpar compaired to how good PGR3 looks. Microsoft was prolly bugging Bungie to get a trailer out for E3.Skyone wrote:Hell-o! That's an FMV, not actual gameplay.Harshboy wrote:Those gfx are slick! Maybe i'll buy a Xbox360 just for that game

That movie was rendered real-time using the current Halo 3 engine, ie, not even the final product, so that's the least you can expect for actual gameplay.Skyone wrote:Hell-o! That's an FMV, not actual gameplay.Harshboy wrote:Those gfx are slick! Maybe i'll buy a Xbox360 just for that game
As far as the plot, there are people who enjoy the plots of FPSs, myself included. The fact that there are three books about the Halo universe lends me to believe that I'm not alone. Have you ever played the Marathon series, made by Bungie in the 90s? Those are incredibly story intensive. Then there's the fact that there's going to be a Halo movie, which will either recap the story or go into it more in depth. Heck, the trailer released today didn't show off gameplay or anything, just shiny new graphics (*drool*) and a teaser of the story. So if you don't play them for the story, that's fine; but the story is there, and there are people who enjoy it.
