Finally! Some money to fund this expensive hobby!
I just got a job at Rona Home Center!
It pays $8.50/hr. I think that is pretty good for a first job...

Can't be $8.50 CAD, unless you live in Nunavut, that or BC and for some reason they decided to pay you an extra .50 cents an hour.
I fun all my funness from a job a Zellers in the home electroncs department. I get to sell TVs, Videogames and Movies, ect. and it's in the Mall so I don't have to hang around on my lunch hour. Better than working at a supermarket atleast.

$8.50 isn't below minimum wage! At least in Oklahoma it isn't... Does minimum wage vary with the part of the nation you live in? Of course, the cost of living here is just about the lowest in the nation. I fund my portables by working for my dad at a laundromat. The fun never ends...

crap you guys have high minimum wage! iowas is $5.15 an hour!
they say ther are going to rais it a dollar soon tho

Ohio i believe is the same as Iowa, and there's no indication of an increase, though it is far below the cost of living. If federal law hadn't made it $5.15 across the board, Ohios would be about $4.95, if I remember right.
In any case, glad to see you have some money. Every ounce of mine in the past three years has gone toward college, but at least I graduate saturday debt free. ^^* Though there haven't been any portables built in my home sice high school...

Warranty-Voiding fun!

Guys minimum wage is a federal controlled standard for the base pay all people make. And if memory serves me the U.S. minimum is about $5.50. So if that currency exchnage is correct that is not below, that is actually good pay.
If you guys think the minimum wage changes from state to state then it's likely what the recommened base pay is for your area. I can tell you that if you go from Detriot to say Royal Oak you'll find a big change in what people earn. One's just not that big on business the other one is nothing but upper scale. That's why you get more money it's all about the area you're working in.
