Genesis Buttons!

I'm gonna install a D-Pad into the Genesis system case. But my d-pad's are cut with a hot knife, and the results are un-even and the case seems really melted plastic. Can someone (specifically G-Force) tell me how to cut a even hole to install a dpad on, and I mean just those plastic buttons to mount. OK? Thnks.

Drill...hmmm, like I just drill in circles that will grow into a d-pad hole, or what?

well the genesis controllers original dpad is a round thing so....

Get a hole saw, it'll dril you a perfect-sized circle. They're like $6.

Erm, I was looking to use something else, but I would prefer using someother d-pad, but I like that holesaw thing.

Spluh. Use a dremel. Those things are awesome, they have interchangable tips so you can sand, drill, carve, route and do many other things.

You could use your Dremel with one of the scroll-cutters (looks like a drill bit) and make a template out of cardboard to make your D-pad hole.

I recommend you use a hole saw; it will give you a perfectly round hole and it will look a lot neater and more professional than drilling a ton of little holes or melting the case. Basically unless you work with these types of tools a lot ("a lot" as in "Norm Abrham woodworking skills" a lot.) you will likely wind up with a wobbly, oblong, off-center hole.

Just measure the part, write down how wide it is, and get a cheap hole saw. It's a lot easier.
