I just returned from my local thrift store and look what I came up with!
Not bad for only $10
Now I got a question... the genesis didn't come with any cables, so is there any way I can make my own?

Wow! Thats a great deal! And yes you can. Open up the Genesis, find the Video and Audio pins (Composite) and solder wires to them. Connect it to a regular RCA cable and viola! Instant Cable

What about Power cables? I don't want to plug it in and then fry the thing...

I'm pretty sure the Genny uses a 7805, so you should be able to wire between 7.2 and 36* volts, and go nuts!
* if you pump in 36 volts, it will get very hot, as that's how a 7805 gets rid of extra power

I'll be honest with you - I would have never guessed that.

I have a spare 7805 from a ripped up SNES... but If I plug that into the wall, the genesis will go BOOM BOOM!

I just got a SNES for 2 bucks at my local thrift store.
If you have a PSone adapter handy, that works as a power supply for the Genesis. That would save you from having to buy a different adapter.

Always when I go to goodwill and they have systems they're usually $24.99.
NES, PSone and Dreamcast games a cool $1.99 though so I guess that makes up for it.
