Tristar 64- hackable?

I have heard that the Tristar 64 uses a NOAC for the NES support. There is a guy who has pulled one apart and made a pinout for it, so what I am wondering is could it be possible that a very small Super nintendo on a chip is also inside of a Tristar 64? Or possibly a very small pcb which would still be smaller than an SNES PCB? If I had a tristar I would tear it open to find out- anybody want to try?

Nah, it uses an emulator to run both NES and SNES games. All the info you should need is here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tristar_64
And who did you see that hacked one up? If it's Kevin Horton, he used a Super 8, which is different. Super 8 has the NOAC in it, Tristar emulates. The Super 8 write-up is here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_8_%2 ... cessory%29

err... No, the tristar doesn't emulate. It has a NOAC and snes hardware in it. Anyways, IIRC the snes hardware is integrated into the main board along with the NOAC so it's bigger than the mini snes probably
