You're DVD lens might be dirty, so you should by a lens cleaning disc. Their about $5 so really not an expensive thing to get. If you want to take the Xbox apart, goto CompUSA, Harbor Frieght, or any place that sells screw driver bits (specificly security bits). You need to look for torque bits. When I was taking my Xbox apart I found you need 10, 15 and 20. You should be able to get by with just a 10 and 20 though.

You need torque screws! The screws on the bottem of the case are size 20, the ones holding the motherboard and other stuff in side the case should be 10.
And to tell you the cost of a good bit set should only be like $15 or something around that. Take a look and see if you can find a good price from a local store. Really they shouldn't cost that much.

they are a pretty standard bit. if you have a interchangeable screw drivery thing, it probably already has that bit... and if you dont they are like a dollar each. dont worry if you dont have the special screwdriver... just buy the right bits and use them with pliers or something
I'm suprised you guys haven't come across one, even once. A len cleaning disc works by have a small brush glued to the disc's read surface. The brush sweeps dust and dirt off the len that might have accumulated over time.
