does anyone know how to get the N64 open?

without breaking the plastic case, I mean. I tried to search for info on this in the forum but the search function is useless.

When you use the Search function you have to check "Search for all terms" to get relevant results.

You can try the melting pen method (look in the SNES forum) or buy a 4.5mm GameBit screwdriver off ebay.

if you get a pen with really hard plastic it shouldn't be a problem

Its worth it to buy a screwdriver bit. But you can always just go with heating up the screw with soldering iron and pulling it out with needle nose pliars. Even leaves the case intact.

Yeah, I'd definitely recommend getting the gamebit. It may seem like an unnecessary waste of money right now, but it really saves time and frustration. Plus, there are no risks of damaging the casing. Just search "gamebit" on ebay.

That's the heatsink. Just unscrew the screws and it'll come right off.
