My battery is dead?

Post by demonofaj »

So I'm about to finish my next portable, then I'm playin it, and as I turn it off something happned. OK, I modified the power input by making a PSONE wire and RC female jack, plug into a powerinput board of a PSONE screen. And make said connection. I secured the connection with masking tape making sure that the Ground and + are neatly away from eachother. Then all of a sudden when I turn it off, I note that that area is very hot. Then I reconnect that battery, and smoke and charred tape fill the room. I quickly unplug the battery, then the battery contacts are coming out of the jack and are all melty, and the PSONE wire is just f-ed up, anyone know what happned?

something must've shorted on the board :(....
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

 The PSONE screen powerinput board...it's that small board....I think the entire system is OK, I'll check with a normal PSONE plug. It's...alive, but you know what...'curses', I'm gonna try something else. Anyone know if 6AA's would power a Genesis substantially?

6AAS would easily power a gensis. if you bypass the 7805, even 4 AAS would

Hmmm, you think I can wire 4 Alkaline AA's to a Genesis and INtec screen unmodded for substantial time of play? :)

probaby, check out the power requirements. i haven't tested the genesis's 5v anything higher than 5v so i don't know if it can handle 6v (the 7805 can though) but it can go down to 4v

The Radicas come with 4AAs normally, and 4AAs=6V, and the Radicas regulate 3.3V, so how could there be a problem?

Of course, if we're not talking about the Radica Genesis here, then I have no idea whats going on and should be ignored for the duration of this post.

So if I just input 6V. off of 4 AA's, would I get at least 30 minutes out of it, and that's WITHOUT bypass the 7805.
