If you know how to program carts for other systems this should be all you need:
http://www.zophar.net/tech/files/snes_cart1.txt

Just get a ToToTeK cart (~$100). Comes with the programmer and Flash Cart. 64Mbit, it's great, I have one. Doesn't play DSP/FX games though (or any games that use special chips, like Mega Man X3).
BUT if you want to go the cheaper and more technical route, here's some links for you to check out:
http://cgfm2.emuviews.com/snes/sfcdev2.php (1024k DevCart from Street Fighter II Turbo Cart).
http://snesdev.romhack.de/ (This site is a great resource, but a tad bit hard to follow sometimes...)
And finally, my most prized posession (Hard to understand sometimes, but VERY useful site):
http://www.romlab.prv.pl/ Has guides on building carts, pinouts, etc.
Anyway the summary is: you need a ROM (EPROM/FlashROM) programmer (such as Willems Enhanced Programmer from eBay, $50). Then you need EPROM/FlashROM's (about $5/piece if you know where to shop), and finally you need to hand-modify a cart to accept the new EPROMs/FlashROMs. This is NOT for beginners, sorry.
But good luck.

Are you talaking about the Tototek SuperFlasher?Krepticor wrote:yea i see that now..... has anyone here usedthis product?
Yeah tons of people here have them, they just wont see your post.... Go to ToToTek's forum ( www.tototek.com ) and read about it.
sweet thanks...
All i would need would be the flash cart, the programer and the software right? plus Roms....
does totodek provide software? I dont know that much and i can't really understand their forum posts
If someone could please break this down into what i need to buy and where to find out how to use it (like if it comes with paperwork)
please and thank you

Yep, you can get the set (programmer and flashcart) or just the flashcart (in case you want two, but won't do you good without a programmer). The ROM's...well thats up to you. And remember, it will play MOST but not ALL ROM's (no Star Fox/MarioRPG/DOOM/MegaManX3/etc).Krepticor wrote:sweet thanks...

BTW, I have the SNES and Genesis flashcarts from Tototek, when I ordered it took like 3 days to come to California.... FROM HONG KONG!! Which was freaking amazing, but I can't vouch for their service now because I haven't ordered anything from them lately. Anyway both the carts work great, the software is easy, and the build on the carts is amazing. Just be careful taking the cart out of the programmer, don't rip off the cart connector!
yea i figured the flash carts could not support the fx chip roms ( i figured i would just buy all 20 of those anyway...)
Anyway you say it is pretty easy to use and all?
Does it come with some sort of paperwork to show how to use it?
I am asking these questions because programing is a field i have no experience in.

Yeah it's simple. No need for programming experience. Just plug the cart writer into your Parallel port, plug the USB cable in for power. Plug the cart in, start the software, pick the roms, burn the roms. And play! I don't remember if it came with paperwork, but its simple. Plug and play. The software is available for download on their website too.Krepticor wrote:yea i figured the flash carts could not support the fx chip roms ( i figured i would just buy all 20 of those anyway...)

Concerning http://snesdev.romhack.de/ , is the guy running it still selling eproms, because I'm having trouble finding them elsewhere.

I doubt he's still selling EPROMs. I get mine on eBay (kinda costly sometimes) and on www.jameco.com ( I got my FlashROM's there and a few EPROMs). I'm sticking with FlashROMS (29F0x0) for SNES stuff cause EPROMS are so damn expensive and so are the EPROM erasers (still need one of those). On and the Genesis stuff is pretty much EPROM only. I got four 27C040 (40pin's) EPROMS on eBay once, got very lucky cause they're super rare, those things go straight on the Genesis Carts with a socket and no re-wiring. Just program the EPROM and solder the chip in or put it in a socket and you're done (unlike SNES where you gotta rewire tonsKing of Bling wrote:Concerning http://snesdev.romhack.de/ , is the guy running it still selling eproms, because I'm having trouble finding them elsewhere.

On his site, I am trying the Star Fox 2 dev cart, but I'm not sure if it was supposed to have used a GSU-1 or GSU-2 Super FX chip. My Stunt Race FX cartridge is GSU-1, so would it work? It is the cartridge he uses but I heared it was definitley for the GSU-2.
