Post by HomicidalBarber »

Any one play that newer Action RPG Oblivion? It looks pretty cool but I wanted to see what others thought before I buy it. Its on PC and XBOX 360.

Here is the gamespot page

All I've seen was the X-Play review of it. Looks better then the Xbox version, by far. The've added thing to it, like new combat ablities and other expansive parts of the world.

I will say this, many of us are not playing the PC version. Requires a Pentium 4 (or equivilant) at 4GHz or faster, 512MB ram, PCI-E graphics card (like ATI X800) and I believe 4-6GB hard drive space. Really hardware demading game.

It's a great looking game and I like the idea of a first person RPG. If I either buy a 360 or get a better omputer I'll likely get it.

The Xbox 360 version and the PC version are the exact same, except you can mod the PC version like crazy (or soon will be able to), making it the better choice if you have a good enough computer.

It's an amazing game. One of the best of all time, IMHO. If you have a 360 or a really good computer, then you should have already bought it :P!!
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

4 GHZ processor...what are those people smoking!!?? You would need to overclock to get to that! I'm sure my 3.2 GHZ, 1 GB Ram, Nvidia 6800 Ultra could handel it :P

Your 6800 will work Ok but don't expect to be able to put it up past 800x600. I noticed no diffrence between playing it on a either my 2.4 ghz PC or my friends 3.2 ghz PC so your CPU should be the least to worry about. Basicly it's all about the Video card.

I have it for PC and 360 and I prefer the 360 one over PC just because I like the controller.

Anyways... I love the game so much, been playing it every day and the game is just so enveloping. From the fact that every person has a voice to the fact that you can do whatever you want.

Thats what makes the game so great. You'll be rideing along in your horse and then suddenly out of the blue there will be a small town...

Infact one day I was rideing along and I walk into this town and everyone was invisible, but still doing things like farming and junk... in the end it turned out that some crazy wizzard had cast a chamelion spell on everyone in the city. :D

...sounds like a little bug that they didn't fix :P....

I've never had that happen, but I have been able to go into a city, and then jump over the walls :P. It was kind of cool, because the whole world was still techinally there, as I could walk around on it, but there weren't any textures or trees or water. To fix it I just went back into a town ;).
