Woah, white screen!

Ok, here's the story. My battery was overcharged... to 10v, hooked up to the PSOne screen. Accidents happen.

Anyways, nothing happened, until I bypassed a fuse, (PS1) thinking that it would work. And I screw up on that by not removing the fuse, but jumping it over with solder. Sparks flew, smoke sputtered... Point is, now there is a huge burn stain on the back of the actual screen, and when I turn it on, I get audio, but the only video I get is white. Pure white. No volume or brightness bars, just white.

I think this has been answered before, but I searched, couldn't find it.

Help!

Have you checked to make sure the lcd ribbon cable is in all the way?

So, what does this 'burn' look like. Can I see a picture? Is the screen not completley black when it is turned off?

when all the screen does is go white, that means it's not getting a signal from the pcb. i fixed my white screen by jumping the fuse but you might not be so lucky

*Sigh*

On the front of the PCB (behind the screen), a line is burnt off. When I jump it, something starts smoking. I've tried jumping varios things, but I can't find crap...

What exactly starts smoking? There's probably a short elsewhere, or a fried component, that led to that trace being burned off...

It seems like it's smoking on the bottom of the pcb, or maybe from the two connectors below. How can I check for busted components?

I'd almost bet your video decoding circuitry is fried. See, the video decoder runs off the unregulated input, which is normally 7.5v. You likely fried that part of the circuit. However, the rest of the screen runs off 7805s, such as the audio amp. So, your board is shot. (Unless you want to use it as an audio system for a hipgear screen)

In which case it might be best to just cut the video decoding and voltage inverting sections of the PCB

im so lucky
iv been testing my snesP with a 9.6 radioshack rc battery and my screen would always have lines
luckily it didnt blow
my charger for my 7.2v battery is coming in like 5 daYS

And there's no way I can repare it? Which part of the board is it?

Also, if anyone has an extra PCB, I'll take it.
