Fixing my game gear. Ummmm, help?

So i am dismantling my game gear so that i can clean the screen and fix the not working sound and i have a few questions.

1: I have all the screws out except for the funny one in the cartridge slot, i have nothing that even turns it, what should i use to remove it?

2: What should i do to fix the sound? it is virtually silent, even at max volume.

finally: Is it worth doing an led mod to the screen while i am in there?

Any help is appreciated.

1 - That screw is the same as a Sega-liscensed Genesis cartridge screw. A real game shop (not a chain store) should have a bit for that. Alternatively, Sears might have six-point external spline drive sockets or you could use external torx if the spline drive is not available.

2 - I have the same issue with my Game Gear, but I don't have any games for it, so it isn't really an issue for me. I believe the audio amp is dead. You could use an audio driver from a Hip Gear, GameBoy, or build your own one-watt audio amp to drive the sound.

I got the screw out with some needle nose pliars. They need to be really thin though or they won't fit in the plastic crevace.

Or you could always just heat it up with a soldering iron and it will jsut fall out when you pull the halfs apart.

I tried the soldering iron technique, didn't work.

I tried needle nose pliers, crushed my finger 7 times and gave up.

I might try cutting it around the screw or just crumble and buy the proper tool.
