Subnotebook or OQO

Post by Harshboy »

Well, i have a summer job this year and will make around $3000.00 My question is, should i get a subnotebook or the OQO. If i get a subnotebook, i want the Sony VAIO PCG-C1MSX (Jap) I remember seeing a site that sold it for 800 bucks or so, but after countless searches, i can't find it. The other choice is the OQO, the worlds smallest portable Windows XP PC. It sells for $1800-$2400. Which do you think i should get. The specs are about the same, and i personaly want the subnotebook. I just need to find a place that sells it and will ship to USA.

If you didnt get the idea, i want:

1) Sony VAIO PCG-C1MSX (I want this one more, but can't find it for sale)

-or-

2) OQO or OQO+

Sub PC. I would actually just save the money and not buy anything.

CNC first, then the OQO. Seriouslty, though, go for a CNC...make the OQO yourself! :)

Buy a decent laptop if you don't already have one, and save the rest. Start a savings account for later in life, you will be glad for it later.

Put it in a savings account. You'll need it later:

- Car
- G/f
- insurance
- college
etc...

Either that or dump half of it into a high-end desktop copmputer., then save the other half.

But hey it's your money... :P

I'd wait until you have the money to decide. Technology moves too fast to decide now. By the end of summer, they'll likely be new UMPCs (like OQO, but faster and cheaper).

I have enough to goto 2 College years, i already have a high-end PC. I need a semi-good subnotebook to play old games and do school stuff. Whats left is being saved for the Revolution. I could just get a Dell XPS and trick it out, but i want a subnotebook first. Anyone know where to find one of these?
