TI DC-DC question

which pin is the input and which is the output if looking at the dc dc converter from the top with the three pins facing ^

hey...um, that input inductor won't do much to help you, it's being bypassed by the diode! You want the diode to face in the other direction. It's just to protect the inductor from voltage spikes caused by the switching circuit.
