working on it... questions about image

well, first of all, i have to tell you that i'm not a very good portable maker, and i just do this for fun, so i really dont know some stuff that other people think thats easy

first of all: ivÃ© got a 0533 screen from a portable dvd, and i want to connect it to my genesis. i know the genesis has got 4 vision and sound wires (red, green, black and blue(i'm not sure) and i cant find an out in the screen where these cables fit... well, the screen has a lot of outs with uncountable wires, but i really dont know what to do...
please help me because this is my second portable and the first never saw the light!!
i'm really tursting in you guys!

1) what's your first portable?
2) Is the screen digital or (I think) Analog?
3) You can't use normal cables (unless a screen has AV in). You must go inside the case, into the circuit board. What screen is it? Do you know?

Most portable DVD screens won't work with portables unless you have an $80 adaptor. Also, portable DVD players don't normally have AV input/output, so even if you did have a working screen, you'd have to go in and physically solder the leads from the Genesis board to the DVD screen board.
Since your screen is most likely a dud, here are some other commonly used screens:
Console screens (PSOne screen, Intec Gamecube screen, Verge, etc.)
Hip Gear/Intec screen pad
Pocket TV screen
Or if all you want is a portable Genesis, Sega already made one. It's called the Sega Nomad, run an Ebay search. They usually go for about $30+shipping.

Oh yeah, if you do buy that, you may want the LED mod, here are some links to help you:

The reason why is because the battery life is not ideal, though by doing an LED mod, it should signifacantly increase the battery life.

well, i think my portable dvd's screen is digital, but i dont know the reference...
yes, my portable dvd has AV outputs (one for audio and one for image)
my first portable was a psx portable concept: it was a big grey playstation connected to a B/W portable tv, by a simple RFU adaptor. the screen was feed by ten 9V batteries, but the problem was the playstation's energy, i had to connect the playstation to a 8.4V battery wich was regulated by a 2808 transistor and a DC adapter.... the problem was hat this never worked and i just gave up...

well, i'll try to find in "miau" (a portuguese web market) a screen adjusted to megadrive
another question....
i heard that i could connect the megadrive board to 4 1.5V simple LR06 batteries- is that true?

you might want rechargable (if they aren't) And I think you may need 5 1.5 volt batteries because I don't think 6 volts will do the job. And if you want AA rechargables note that they are only 1.2 volts, so you'll need 6 of them.
