I like Luc's idea

! I will be putting in built-in controls for sure, putting on a headphone jack, and giving it a paint-job at the least. I was pretty confident, since my max bid was $65

! I'll probably start a thread on this project in the NES forum when I get it, so keep your eyes peeled. I'll also have updates for this project on my site, so look there too.

Too bad it's just a LCD, Case, and NES. If it had batteries it'd be a better deal.

If I were you, I would mod the screen with a PSone screen and take out the one that takes 12 volts. He already did all the hard stuff for you...NESp's IMO aren't the easiest of portables to accomplish.

if i won it, i would just fix it up and sell it to one of my nostalgic pushover classmates. there are so many kids in my grade that would by this not b/c they like NES, but b/c it's portable and handmade and because they're super gulliable kids

Actually, after the science fair, my friend gets it since he's put about $200 into the project

! Will a NES run off of 12v since it uses a 7805? And does anyone know where to get a good 12v rechargeable battery?

I found out today that the screen runs on a true 12V! However, installed is a solid-state power divider, which knocks down the voltage to 5V. I want to use my standard 7.2V RC car battery pack, but will the screen run off of it?

try giving it 5v to the 5v spot. if it works, use a regulator to get 5v with 7.2v and it'll work
