Voltage problem on NESp....

Post by CronoTriggerfan »

Okay, there is this NESp from a source I will not currently disclose. Anyways, it currently only runs off of a wall adapter, and is not truly portable. Normally, I could just hook this up to a batt and be done with it. However, come to find out, the screen in this thing runs off of 12v! Since the NES uses a 7805, could it run off of a 12v battery? If so, does anyone know of a 12v rechargeable battery and have a link for one? If not, how would I run this thing off of batteries?

Thanks in advance,

If the NES uses a 7805 to regulate 5v then you can put 12v into it. I dont know of any good 12v batteries though. Are you sure it runs off 12v or is that just what the spec says? I know one of the screens I got said it runs off of 12v, but on the inside it was stepped down to 5v.
What I have shown you is reality. What you remember, that is the illusion.

I really don't know what the actual voltage is, I'm just going by what the person has told me. I believe the screen also uses a 7805, so putting 12v in wouldn't kill it if the voltage were wrong, would it? And thanks for the help!

You could always open it up and check the brand name on the LCD screen. Maybe, the product number might be written on the board somewhere so you can find out the full details about it such as voltage.
