Second MAME cabinet completed!

You make it seem like i dont know what MS DOS is

.......any idea how i can basicly clear the old hard-drive and put DOS, Free-DOS, or a simple MAME OS on it? (Btw, this is the PC in an Xbox case pc

) I shall call it the "MAMEbox"

If your question is serious. There is a Linux distor, I believe it's called KnoppixMAME, or something like that. It's a live distro that you can add roms to and has the emulators for everything from Atari 2600 to N64, maybe even more.

Both my arcade machines are dos based i just downloaded a old bootdisk and put it on the HDD and set Gamelaunch to load stright away.

I like this better cause after im done i just switch off i don't have to worry about shutting down and cause it's dos nothing can get corrupted (well its possible a highscore could if it was turned off when writing it but that is way to rare)

There are afew dos fontends worth using i use gamelaunch myself but there's also arcadeOS and one or two other ones but i think gamelaunch is the best

What about a NES arcade system that functions like a jukebox? Of course, there is the issue of the robotics required to make it work, but a few servos and some PICs should do the job nicelyâ€¦

from the pic it looks good, but it didnt load via the link due to traffic.

ive been thinking about making one of these for months now, ive just never got around to it.

ive got everything i need to build it, except the controls/wood. how much did ye spend on the controls? is HAPP the best supplier of arcade controls?

I think I spent about $30 on a package that had 2 joysticks, 12 buttons, and 2 start buttons. That was all I needed, except for a few extra buttons for freeplay and stuff. This was on ebay, which is definitely the best place for this stuff (happ is waaaay overpriced)

that sounds really good, i downloaded it earlier but never got around to burning it. how do you use it? do you just burn the iso and make a cd full of roms or what?
