Bleaching hair with peroxide?

I know I sound like an idiot, but how do you bleach hair with peroxide? I tried just putting it in my hair, dry and clean, but it didn't really work. Could someone please let me know what I'm doing wrong?

I don't know what the peroxide percentage has to be, but the typical percentage in the bottle you find at the pharmacy are 0.3%. I would suggest again anything stronger then 20% as the stuff can burn your skin if not deluted enough.

Sometimes if it's too strong, it'll eat the hair, so you'll have some special looking hair...

Why don't you both shut the hell up.

Yeah, H2O2 gets pretty damn corrosive or something if it's in a too high concentration. Anything on the shelf at a store should be ok though.
