Genesis portable questions...

I am considering a Genesis portable, but I do have a few questions. One, what are all the revisions? This always confuses me. Also, should I use a Genesis or a Radica? I want to use a Genesis since they are so cheap, but just wondering. Also, what revision of Genesis did G-Force use in his guide? Sorry for all the questions, but I'm a total Nintendo fanboy, so I've only played the Genesis like once. I still wanna try one, though

model 1: bulky, unusable to me
model 2: smaller, ok if you have 32X and/or mega CD and/or power base converter
model 3: very compact, best if you have no accessories since it can't play them.
CDX: almost compact as model 3 though it's a genesis/MP3 player/ sega CD into one. It can play the 32X by this guide.

G-Force uses the model 2 in his portables.

All in all I suggest the model 3 if you don't have CD/32X/master system games or don't want them in the portable. The radica can't play every genesis game because of lack of whatever and it can't play accessories like the model 3 either.
If you do want 32X or CD or master system games though, use the CDX probably though remember: it takes up enough battery juice

Make it with a Genesis two...I plan to make mine fully functional with the 32 X....but we all know that's improbable, however...nah.

I made mine with a v3, nice and small.

Nevertheless soldering that slot is PAINFUL. Also on the fact that the actual pads aren't 'solder friendly'...people who PM me about it...IT DIED! So I dumped it...

... Says the guy who just spent his last money on a radica.

I'm going to post my review on it once I get the cart slot on. It's the Street Fighter II version, which somebody said didn't work when they tried wiring a cart slot on it. I'm hoping I'll have more luck.

Hmmmmm... I hear they have a Radica with built-in Sonic. Anyone have a link? That way, I wouldn't need a cart slot, since Sonic was the only good game on the Genesis except for shining heroes

The only carts that didn't work were the ones that needed extra memory (like FX chip for the SNES). Like SFII the New champions...

, I'm not sure but Shaq-fu and other SF games might've needed that expansion which the GOAC can't provide.
