bad experiences with school

Well, since I have had such bad school this year, I decided to ask for you all to share bad experiences there with me. Here is mine pretty much:
Repeating Geometry in the ninth grade, and maybe even repeating the eighth grade. Everything else that I thought was horrible sounds like weaksauce now. I wonder what bad schooling is for other of us "creative" peoples as the councilers call portablizers.

That sucks man. The worst experience I've ever had was getting a C+ on my report card.

Lets see. I can't really think of anything. I havn't had to repeat any grades. I'm in a private school, so I'm like one grade above everyone else.

I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one who is geometry-impaired!

Yeah I stink at it, mostly because I barely passed algebra

so I never get the algebra portions.

I got a A (96%) in the first semester and a A- (94%) in the 3rd quarter. I also have a S+ for both thingies. Yeah, I love that class. I help with all the calculator related stuff.

Ha! I'm in tenth grade, and this year, I completely stopped working, yet somehow, my grades are exactly the same(A-/B+/B only)

I dunno about in Bratain, America, or whereever the hell you are, but in Canada 9th grade was the easiest grade in the world. Mind you the most boring as well seeing as you can only pick 2 options. But it was the easiest.

Yeah just wait until 11. That's when it gets tough. (At least in Canada)

I didn't study for tests, do homework, or anything, and in Grade 11 it gets much harder. My Grade 10 - Grade 11 Math (Academic) mark dropped 20%. And I was trying my ass off in 11 and not trying too hard in 10. Just a warning.

I would agree with Kurt, 9th grade was a piece of cake for me. I wasn't in public school for 7-8th grade so I can't comment on that. But now in my sophomore year in high school, things are getting tougher. My sister said junior (11) was the hardest year.
Last year I could do less than 30mins of homework and still pull low As. Now I'm taking 4 honors classes and that has more than tripled.

Luckily my Precalc H teacher is hott, and there aren't many gangs where I go (same high school as John Carmack, in fact.)

last year i nearly failed english 1st semester. i had a 53% the whole semester but aced both finals (yeah, i had 2 finals for english that year, 400 questions + an essay in 2 hours

) so i ended up with a 68%, which is a high D in my school. this year is just as bad because my teacher hates me. 2 report cards ago i had a 34% and the one after that i got a 44% so if i keep it up i should have a C or D by the end of the semester

i really, really don't want to go to summer school

. most people in my school do well in english but suck at math but i'm the opposite, i have an A in math

yes, junior year is by far the hardest, mainly because it's the most important and because, well, the teachers/classes just generally get harder.

I would have a decent overall grade (well, I do, but I deserve more from what I know) but some of the teachers, quite frankly, suck. No homework, only tests. In fact, every single class I have with perhaps the exception of British Lit. (which I have a 94 in...bloody easy class

) have homework or outside class work as optional. No, for lack of a better word, "extra" work to help boost your grade. Usually, if you screw up on a test (especially for stupid stuff..which I sometimes tend to do :roll), you're pretty much screwed. Also, in my history class (honors us history..) the only grades are usually 6 or 7 tests (with maybe one of those writing an essay, which I'm good at). Also, it doesn't really matter if I study a lot or not...I always seem to get a low 80 or worse.

*sigh*, I really hate how teachers vary in difficulty/teaching ability. I'm pretty certain that if my teachers were better (especially my history teacher, but my honors trig/pre calc/math analysis teacher can kind of suck, too) that I'd have a better grade.

Been doing okay, I spose. I flew through K, 1-4 grades with As, Bs, and a rare C. I was the top second or third in my classes, where many of the kids had stagnant brains. Honestly, I see people from ten years ago and they're still the same hopeless ones I remember.

I was finally accepted into the GATE program (Gifted And Talented Education) during 4th grade and was transferred to another school that actually hosted it. In 5th and 6th grade, I actually felt challenged, and at times, stupid. But I managed through it all. 7th and 8th grades (jr. high school here, not middle school, but they're kindasorta the same thing) were a mixed bag of brain crunching and turkey shooting, but I somehow managed to get my homework done everyday WHILE watching TechTV*, the History Channel, and FOX. 8th grade English was EASY -- I made 120% but only because the teacher gave extra credit for book reports under an "easily abused" system.

*R.I.P., thanks a lot G4, you suck.

Jr. High was full of idiots. Combined with the discovery of hormones and a desire to be mature (YO FOOS GRAN THEFT AUTRO I BLASTED THE SHARKS!), there's no question why. I had my moments of dumminess, but nothing compared to the many jerkholes there. Huge wonder if they ever grow up to contribute to society.

They also boosted the status quo. It honestly was a slice of pie to get noticed for grades. Not that I would go around and tell everyone "I'M THE BEST I HAVE BRAINS YOU DON'T!", but I wouldn't mind having the recognition. So their un-telligence combined with my high marks made me think I was quite the smart character.

Then high school came around. I figure 9th grade year wasn't so bad after all. English gave me some hiccups, but I took it with stride. Geometry Honors, well, THAT was a challenge I had to take by the horns. Every night was just about 2-3+ hours of involved problem solving. Boy did it work the brain.. In retrospect, I enjoyed the difficulty and only wished I'd spent more time on the chapter projects. Phyiscal Science Honors was the only class I had absolute trouble with that year. I DID NOT understand the mole and it's relationship to atoms whatsoever (conversions blew me mind). There were a lot of people in that class that didn't deserve to be there.

Tenth grade is where things started getting ugly. I'd made the habit in 9th grade of shortcutting work to complete it as fast as possible. In 10th, I carried this over into doing HW during lunches, waiting the night before, even turning in late sometimes. It was a mentally draining, being under the constant pressure of due soon/missing assignments. (Indiana Jones and the rolling boulder anyone?) The material wasn't so bad, but my study habits started sucking.

In the current 11th grade, I'm failing Chemistry AP. I've had a bad history with science, I just can't connect with it. Too many %#*(& technicalities and a high mighty list of things to remember make it all too much. I barely scraped by with 60% in that class last semester.. I can only hope to repeat that grade so I don't have to repeat the class this summer. Also add in the number of late English assignments I've turned in and it's all a mess. I'm surviving, but on life support.

Status quo failed me miserably. Some people who I imagined would stay at their level of intelligence actually smartened up. I shouldn't be envious, but I am. Don't fall into the trap. Do what you can to prevent the disease of stagnation.

(As an added bonus, I have sworn off copying/cheating. I realise this is how I managed a B in Biology AP last year, not to mention how others are passing classes in the current grade. Abso-f%*#ing-lutely atrocious. Gives me a sense of moral superiority to know I won't stoop to their level. How's that for a consolation prize?

I'm a freshman, it's easy as Super Mario Bros.

8th grade was by far, the easiest grade ever (gradewise). Peer pressure and popularity wsa hell though.
