I ment ps2 for next gen as an example i didn't list all the systems in each category.Skyone wrote:You made no sense, you put Playstation under 32-bit, and next-gen, dreamcast was in the Playstaion era, you skipped 64-bit, and left PS2 and Gamecube out of next-gen.
Plus when the dreamcast came out it was a advertised as a next gen system.
I only listed a few for examples n64 really doesn't have anything else to compare to it was the only 64bit system.

That's what the Atari Jaguar had.minkster wrote:I thought the N64 had two 32 bit cores...and wasn't truly a 64 bit system. I could be wrong though.
The N64 is fully 64-bit because the main CPU, a MIPS R4300i, is 64bit as well as the RCP (custom coprocessor) which is also 64-bit. If you don't believe me I have the Nintendo SDK docs on this

If I was to do this, I would organize it like so: (but for every system)
Everyone gets to pick 10 games for each system, and the top 10 are displayed, along with the votes (or %) that chose that game.
Code: Select all
NES:
1) Duck Hunt: 1337 votes
2) SMB: 1000 votes
3) Megman 3: 987 votes
SNES:
1) Earthbound: 149,546,876,767,279,003,345,834,654 votes
2) Starfox: 99999999999 votes
.....
etc etc.Hey, sup?

Ya, that sounds good. Well, we got it all organized now, so all we gotta do is figure out how we're gonna set it up. I was thinking we could have someone make a temporary website and have a password to log in and vote. We could have a master list of all games per system, and then just start narrowing down the list. We could have someone who likes each system be in charge of doing the write-ups for the top 10, so they would be quality. It should be stickied, too. So if we do it this way, we would need someone who could set up the site and then post the URL. Whaddya think?

EDIT: I call SNES!!!
(I may need help, though)

I though Sega stopped making systems because Playstation totally pwnd them when they released the PS2.Kurt_ wrote:Somehow I don't think that would work. There is no "best game ever".
Everybody has their own opinion on the subject.
For example, I think sega (except for sonic games) sucks. They stopped making systems because they sucked.
Now the person right under me will say something like "I lvoe sega! j00 4r3 4 70741 n00b y0! Nin73nd0 5uck5!"
Which is why it siomply wouldn't work.
But my favourite game ever would definitely be Zelda:OoT
Nintendo Power magazine just ended their countdown to the #1 game, and from the start, everyone knew it would be OoT. And of corse it was.
