Mass media violence is only video games?

To start off this is about health effects of playing violent video game, namely GTA III vs. Simpsons Hit & Run.

The idea to only involve video games is biase enough. What really bother's me is the ideas they propose. I don't know if I'm just a minority or an anomily, but save for the hard parts the only thing that study has in common with he is rise in blood pressure. I know everyone experiances that though, it's all about getting getting past it. Then let the endorphens flow!

As for the sexual part.... correct me if I'm wrong, but really do all that many of us have girls more then friends (don't hijack the thread)? Until that changes I don't see what they said being true, and really if you think about it we'd have protection if we expected.

I wouldn't be as irrtable as I sound right now if they had included media off the damn TV. What about MTV, Music Videos, or more importantly Movies? Can't bad mouth those, they're respected forms of art and blah blah blah. I want to see a study that has people 17-25 and cover all media violence. Then it will be a balanced study, not some biase piece of crap.

Your thoughts?

I'm getting sick of all of the stereotyping towards us gamers. I know that there are a handfull of people that might get the urge to. But I'm guessing that at least 70% of the people on this forum have the simple knowledge of reality media depicting all of the violence and sexual content.

Why couldn't real life have an effect on people? Shootings in the inner cities I guaruntee weren't caused by violent media. How about school? People in general.

You're ill equiped.

It was an attention grabbing headline, and really a misleading one too. See maybe I should add that as another reason I hate people that have a ventata against video games.

Bar none that article about how the past 10 years have been the most non-violent in the past 100 years is a true research study. But hey I can't expect people on the other team to be that fair after all they've got a holy crusade to wage.

I dunno I've been playing Real Time Strategy games for ages and I currently have no real-life world-conquering ambitions involving tanks, lazer shooting mechs, catapults, Tesla troopers, or little dudes in skirts* corresponding to the color of my new World-Nation.....

*You will only get this if you have played Rise of Nations with the graphics turned down, lol.
