Is my N64 fried?

I opened up the system about a month or two ago and took off all of the metal plates and whatnot that's unnecessary inside. I know it was working after that since I had played it a few times without the case and there weren't any problems. I just tried hooking up the system and I got nothing. No video, no audio, and the power LED won't light up. Is the system fried? I can't think of anything else that could have happened to it. The only thing I've done to it recently is take off all of the unnecessary plastic on the expansion pack. I accidentally put it in backwards after that when I was testing it, but switching it to the correct position didn't do anything. Any help would be appreciated.

So, you put the expansion pak in backwards. Well, that shorted things and the power supply flipped its breaker. Wait for it to reset and don't put it in backwards.
If you actually fried the N64, the power LED would still come on. If you see no LED, then there is no power getting to it.

i tried this before. removing the plastic from the expansion pack will mess it up. the N64 should be fine but the expansion card is broken, you need a new one.

I saw this and put the expansion pack back together (I had saved all of the pieces, just in case) and plugged it in and it started working fine. So I tested it again without all of the plastic and the metal casing around it, and it still worked. I don't know if putting it back together did anything or the breaker reset during that time, but it's working in any case, so thank you to both of you.

As long as it works, it doesn't matter. It does if it doesn't work again, though.

Damn, I saw no light so I proceded to tear off all the surface mounted chips. I can't believe I wasted that n64... I thought it was fried....

same thing happened here-no power led. I'm just going to have to wait for a new ac adapter

just wauit a few hours for the breakers to flip back i think and it will work fine

thats what i thought too but i waited a day and still nothing happened. I think a fuse might have blown because i tested it with my friend's adapter and the led turned on so i think its just my adapter.
