Ach Shame!

Well, today I opened up my PSone and took it out of the case. Now it doesn't power on. I'm almost completely sure that I didn't fry it. What could be wrong with it, and how can I fix it?

Like in doesn't read disk or doesn't POWER on. In case one the disk button is not pressed down.

Make sure you didnt place the data board STRAIGHT on a carpet, as the Carpet will bridge the contacts.

nope, the only logical explanation to this is:
The PSone came to life when you bought it, when you took it apart it's like ripping the skin of of a human. It obviously hated you when you did that so it simply didn't accept current.

The only logical answer to things are illogical things

(If that even makes sense).

But really that dosn't make sense... the thing worked before you took the case apart, and now you did so it decided to not work????

Did you do anything after you took the case apart perhaps?

I replaced the current power switch with a SPST submini slide switch because this one was massed up and came back up when you let go of it.

Ok, well that's probably your problem. Check for cold solder joints or bridged solder joints. Or the switch could be faulty.

As for the other guy (I know your name I just can't remember the spelling) I don't know what's wrong with yours, other then that you could of fried it due to static electricity.

Or, are you testing it on top of those ground plate things? If the bottom (or top, but less likely) is misaligned, it will short pins and cause it not to power up. Happened with mine, but didn't do any damage that I could tell after I fixed it.

Okay, listen up. There is a large fuse near the power input jack. Jump that. See if it works. Then, there are some small black fuses next to the 7805 on the left. Jump those if it still doesn't work.

As a last resort, wire the positive terminal of the 7.5v jack straight to the input of the 7805. That worked for me.
