LED mod.....can it work for my GBA?

Post by MM007 »

Not only do I not want to upgrade to an SP when I have a GBA, but I like the vertical orientation of the old GBA better anyway. I wish, however, to make a backlight for it. Is there a way I can do this with the LEDs like a PSOne screen?

You can. it has the same ideals behind it. If you want to be really cool you could get a petentiometer for the leds so that you can control the brightness and turn them off to save power in lit places. I have an sp though and never turn my backlight off. So good luck someone can post the link since I don't have it right now. I believe the site that originally did it gives you instructions on how to do it. So good luck.

yeah before the gbom2 i was going to do it to a pocket all i needed was two or three flat white leds... its a symple mod all you have to do is cram leds behind the lcd pane. and there sould be room for them in a gba!

Yeah they used to have a kit for it called afterburner but its no longer made. I think you should still be able to do it. Also I think the kit stinks cause im pretty sure that you had to use the select button to turn the lights on or off and on some games like ballistic ecks vs sever you need the select button.

actually the afterburner has a thin piece of clear plastic that the leds shine though and you put that on top of you screen.
