I got an nice idea for a mod. I'm too afraid too try this but feel fry too do it. You know the ds microphone and headphone entrance someone should think up a mod wich enables you too connect a headphone. After closer inspection I saw that the microphone part was just two pins so my guess is you can just hook up a mic too it by connecting + too + and - too -. I believe old headhopens work the same way but with a different connector so modding should be easy.
Edit: I meant the the port on the outside of the ds on the right. If you look closely you'll see a headphone.

Ya, but the microphone isn't just a studio microphone, I think it's a piezo element converse. Which I think means that you cannot communicate through the microphone with speech, just sound intensity (claps, blows, undetectable words.)
If you want to go through the trouble, knock yourself out. But it's not worth it.
I think there's a microphone port on the DS already, right? It's a micrphone headphone port combo thing. Like on top of an iPod. You could make an adapter to hook a computer mic to that and not risk a good DS.

If you're looking at this post and it was made before 2008, just ignore it.
In response to skyone, Nintendogs' voice recognition is totally custom. The game isn't programmed to recognize "sit" or any standard commands, but any and all commands you happen to use, so you could get your dog to respond to things like "Melvin!" or "Humbarger!"
