Pal Atari 7800

Post by daleighan »

I was recently in Belgium and found a Pal atari 7800 for 2.50 euros. It is the model with asteroids built in. I found some information about the ones with ateroids built in being universal systems or something, and could display in NTSC format after some hacking. Does anybody know how to do this? If not, what should I do with this.

I've been waiting for this day. I'd like to buy a certain IC off of you.

This will leave you with Luminescence and Chroma video (components of S-video). So then you just need to convert to NTSC.

how do I get RGB from it? there seems to be no connection for it. The model that I have was intended for the german market, and I think it was made in 1991

Well, open it up and check if you see a chip labelled "v7021."
Here's your pinout to get the RGB:

You should be able to figure out the rest.

But please... I really want that chip, a lot.

Will RGB on this system work with a PSone Screen?

I think that system has RGB and I know PSone screen does, so yes (provided I didn't make a mistake in the system output).
er... nevermind I'm sure they both have RGB
