Battery for an Xbox?

What kind of battery do you guys think would run an Xbox? I'm looking for something small, cheap and not real big or heavy. I'm not even sure if there is a battery that could run that damn thing, the Xbox is a large ass brick!

But I am possibly planning on making an Xbox portable.. Well, almost a portable.. It will still be kinda large

I plan on taking the Xbox apart, and throwing it into a briefcase using a battery to run it and a portable DVD player as the screen. I will not need the battery to run the DVD player. I need a battery that gives me a few hours of play, hoping for at least 4 hours if even possible.

ummm.... i dont know the power draw, but i would think that depending on the voltage requirements, 10 or so AA 2000+mah nimhs in series would be enough for a good bit of play.

i would have to say something that might power the xbox would be a computer power backup UPS's, they are usually made by apc, the use a small car battery sized battery and should work for you in a brief case, they are very expensive one that lasts more than 15 mins. tigerdirect.com sells a 110min one for 239.99 and its made by apc, you may have to dismantle it and arrange it in a briefcase, other than that i dont think its truely possible without using a car battery and power inverter.

Why a power inverter??? Car batteries are 12v DC... An inverter brings the voltage up to 120, then the xbox psu brings the voltage back down to 12v (or whatever it is...)

i was think about buildind a xbox portable and was wondering it this battery http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 08428&rd=1 would be able to power the xbox and a psone screen if so for how long. i was also wondering how you connect the battery to the xbox so it can run off it.

That battery wouldn't be able to power the x-box. The xbox needs a mini-itx power supply, and those run off of 11 volts minimum.

Look to get laptop batteries, they have the most power in them with out having to cost an arm and a leg.

As for the Xbox yes it does use 12, 5 and 3.3 volts so if you can get a mini-itx power supply to output the right voltages to the right pins you'll have no problem (except for like the power on and other wire thats in there).

try running 10 2500mah AAs in seiries its small and you will get 12V 25Ah

no. 2500mah= 2500 miliamphours right? 1000 milliamphours = 1amp hour so its 25ah right?
