Reading Diagrams

I'm having trouble reading these diagrams http://focus.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/pt78ht233.pdf
the one that says standard application, first page.
Is there a book, or website that can teach me about these things...
I'd do it myself but i dont know what to type in at google...

yeah man i am. Your thing is perfect, but for the future, is there like a thing that tells you what all the little simbols are? or what are they called so i can look it up.

Pffft, 129 pages on how to read schematics. I bet if I wanted I could write a book about it in 10.

i know there's an easy to read diagram for that on benwiki but benwiki isn't working, what's up with that?
