powering scanner light

was just doing this: http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.p ... 405&page=1

but im having trouble running the light.

the wires connecting the inverter to the rest of the scanner has 4 wires- black, red, brown, and orange.

i obviously went and added the power from the origional scanner adapter to the red and black wires, but nothign happened. do i need to do somthing with the brtown and orange wires?

i've been wondering the same thing, i have an old scanner light i want to use but can't figure out the invertor

Hehe, inverters are somewhat large.

mines about 1.5" by 1". not that big really.

i accidently touched one of the contacts somewhere on the inverter with the positive lead, and it lit up. but i dont want to try and recreate this as im worried about burning it out.

i just dont get why it doesnt work. ill try and post a pic of the inverter if it helps.

was it one of the pins on the input plug/wires?
