How do you overclock your CPU with Dell BIOS, or in Windows. Even better, how can you use different BIOS on your PC. Like, replace Dell BIOS with Asus or Award winning BIOS. Help, anyone?

If you tried to flash an Asus BIOS onto a Dell, it would either A) be prevented by the Dell BIOS due to incompatability issues, or B) turn your PC into a brick.

I suppose there may be some super rare occasions in which using BIOS' from different brands works, but it is unlikely.

As for overclocking, many retail PC's with at least an AMD K8, or a newer Intel CPU, can be overclocked with Clockgen, a windows program.

On the subject of PC games, does anyone have framerate issues with Black and White 2? I have a Radeon X1900XTX, yet I have to set the game to low quality and 800x600 to get just playable framerates. (My PC: X2 3800+, 2GB DDR550 at DDR400, 100GB Sata, X1900XTX, Aspire 520watt psu with double 12v rail)

I personally like Falcon Northwest laptops, and CyberPower laptops. Couldn't you overclock those?

Darn.......i have to open my PC. I'll do it tommorow when my parents arnt home

Are there any other options?

Maybe you can find out the PLL model number on the internet?

No offense, but why does everyone care about this persons gaming computer but almost nobody gives a poo worth my Shuttle PC project?

FYI = I have everything layed out at newegg, its about $800 including shipping, and I just was told that my parents are going to pay for it for me

If you get a decent power supply, 500 should be enough for a high-end computer. Remember if you get a 600 it will prolly be a crappy one that will give bursts of energy, and subsequently fry a mobo or something else.

No insult intended, but have you seen how cheap computers are now? Unless you know what you are doing (in which case you wouldn't have started this thread) it's hard to beat the 40% off sale that Dell is having or any other companies "deal of the week". I "built" one on the website last week for gaming and it ended up under $1000.

Assembly instructions:
(1) Open box and remove computer.

Don't forget when building a computer you need to include the price of the OS and warranties are nice for preventing headaches.

I wasn't saying that linking to your shopping cart is against the rules, I was saying that we can't see anything there.

You still haven't told us exactly what components you were asking about.

I have a Sempron64 3100+, 1GB DDR550, 2x 160GB SATA RAID hard drives, DVD/CD-RW drive, and a Radeon X1600PRO, all running on just 270 watts. I'm addicted to silence- my CPU fan runs inaudibly, as does the PSU, and the X1600 is fanless. All of this is stashed in a nice micro-ATX minitower.
