There should be a battery forum (or at least a batt sticky)

Post by CronoTriggerfan »

With all the questions about batteries we get here at the forums, we should talk to Ben about dedicate a forum solely to batteries. It would save a lot of threads on various forums. Also, battery technology is always being updated, so new finds/better technology can be posted there, too. Or we should at least have a battery sticky here in Forum 42. Mods, admins, Ben, whaddya think?

This has already been discussed, and locked. We decided that the existing console forums correspond to a battery. For instance, N64 uses around 9v, so 9v batteries are talked about in there and how they are hooked up.

We did? Oh, sorry  . I still think it would be a good idea, though, seeing as we already have a forum dedicated to all the other main components of a portable (cases, screens, and consoles). So why not batts? Since that's been ruled out already, we should at least make a battery sticky of common battery info and where people can post their questions.

EDIT: We should take a poll  !!!!!!!!

it's been discussed before, and the general feeling is that most aspects depend on the individual system anyway. If it doesn't, most things have been done to death, and a quick search will let you find what you need.

Oh, ok. If it's that unanimous, we should just lockify this thread. I still think we should take a poll, though.

at the very most, we could make the case forum a case/batteries forum. It doesn't get too much traffic anyways :P

Ya, I like gannon's idea  . If not, though, I'll help timmeh build a batt wiki. However, I think combining the case forum with a batt forum would be more efficient.

i think the whole battery thing really pertains to the console you are trying to portabalise. and if there was a battery forum then there would be no posts in the system forums on batteies and would take away from them. (sorry if i sound stupid here but somebody has to underrstand)
