New Connector

OK, well when i was trying to fix the pins with a pin the nes pin actully got cought inside the circle of the pin. i ended up breaking the nes pin to get the pin out. Suprisingly the nes worked, but cartridge slot seems to now only work occisionly. My question is whether I can cut off the existing connector and use gannon's family converter to replace my broken one. Thanks.

Are you trying to say that you were trying to bend back the NES pins with like a paperclip and the paperclip got caught and then you broke pins of the connector when you got it out?
It's possible that, depending on the pins you broke, games might not even use them (about 10 of the pins of the NES connector were never used).
Regarding your question about the Family Converter, the answer is no. But you can get new NES edge connectors for $5-$10 from various sources.

you can desolder the the connecter from the electric quarter converter and wire it manually.

No, a saftey pin. so buying a converter off gannon will work then. OK thanks

It might work, but it wouldn't be easy.
And the NES zero insertion force mechanism wouldn't work anymore.
They sell replacements on eBay. Just search for "NES 72" and you'll find a bunch of 72-pin sockets for the NES.
