Ubuntu Not installing

Hey, My stepdad has a Laptop and Wants to get Ubuntu, Installed on it.

Theres one problem, He has 2 Harddrives, and is running Win 98.
He tried to install Ubuntu, It started to Install but Stopped Responding once it go to the AT Keyboard Part of the installation.

Has anyone else ran into this problem?
and How to fix it?
