PS2 multitap problems

Post by psychotic_mechanic »

I'll start this out by saying I threw out the directions when I received this a couplw weeks ago. I mean come on, it's a multi-tap, right? You plug it in and plug in 4 controllers than start playing, right?

Wrong.

I've tried every combination I can think of by powering the system on and off, plugging in different controllers, etc.

The offending multitap is a playtech unit that is supposed to be compatible with "all" PS2 versions. It has two conectors, a memory card and a controller port. Am I missing something?

Playtech.

Their website www.playtechusa.com has no customer service or "contact us" links. I did read that some of the "universal" multitaps don't work with really old PS2's, which mine is. In fact I bought a universal one because I know this one is going to die eventually and be replaced with a slim.
