whats the best thing you have bought at good will or seen but did not buy at good will

mine would be

Dreamcast

PSone mini

My GoodWill doesn't have anything, but the best thing(s) I ever got at a flea market were a PS2 ($5), NES Toploader ($20), and a complete(!) boxed vader 2600 ($20). Also found some pretty rare games.

Yeah, some kids and their father had it. They literally screamed at me, "It's for parts! It doesn't read discs! $10!" I got them down to $5. It didn't include any controllers. But it works fine for Katamari Damacy and Socom II.

Lets see, at my local Value Village (they call them Savers there, don't they?), I've gotten 5 nes's, 6 genesis's, 3 super nintendos, a playstation, a coleco gemini, countless nes and 2600 games, a pentium 3 computer, an oasis album on cassette, 4 nhl jersesys, a working Canon S600, a universal steering wheel, a Mac SE, and prolly some other crap too.

Um at my D.I. (its basically a huge garage sale every day) I got my playchoice 10 arcade machine for 40$... They didn't think it worked

lol awsome, on Sunday here we have flea market with a bunch of people who sell games. Anything from NES and SNES games to 2600s and colecovisions and stuff like that.

D.I. stands for Deseret Industries, people donate their unneeded stuff and they sell it for cheap, pretty much a garage sale that you don't have to worry about. As far as I know they are only in Utah and the surrounding area.

I think they go either way, though I only see savers around here. I do know that they are owned by the same company, since I have seen the Value Village logo a few times in the past on ads and products

The best thing I ever got at goodwill was, get this--

A vintage 1962 Fender Deluxe Reverb guitar amplifier for $100!!!! It didn't even need fixing-- just a couple of vacuum tubes were replaced, and it worked and sounded great!

$100 may seem like a lot, but I've seen these sell for eight times as much on Ebay and at used music stores! THese are much desired by electric guitar players like myself.

How on earth canI find places like this in my area? I live in Chicago and it doesn't seem like this places exist. Well, we have a Goodwill, but they almost never have video game stuff.

Thrift stores and pawn(not pwn)shops have this stuff for cheap, usually it is hit and miss though, so check places often.

The best thing I ever got? Umm, a real nice record player, the Beatles' two-disc "Blue album" collection (on record of course), and the White Album in mint condish, even the pack-in poster was still there!
Record player: $25
Beatles albums (both mint and two disc sets) $1 each.
Yay me!
