Quicktime is being a pain! Please help!

Post by limpport »

Okay, so... I loaded and saved Port Washington in the BIG size from portablesofdoom. It said the size is 1.24gb, but it said the download was complete at 113mb. I opened it in Quicktime, but about 10-11 minutes in, this popped up:

I loaded and saved (the big one) it into DivX movie folder, and tried to play it with the DivX player, but this popped up:

Also, this time, it said the complete loaded size was 55.9mb.

Can someone tell me what's wrong??? please?

Has anyone gotten the movie to play the whole length yet?

Also, the BIG verson with quicktime from Jason Jones and A Fistful of Reviews opens a new window and plays it in Ipod size format. I got about 5 min in before it had the fatal error sign.

Well, my Quicktime plays movies and clips perfectly. Where did you get yours, and what version is it. I have Quicktime 7+iTunes. Works fine, but sometimes it loads png images :?

Ok, go to HERE and download the latest iTunes+Quicktime. It includes Quicktime 7 (upto date) Sorry if you don't want iTunes. For me it's not a problem, i have an iPod :P

EDIT: I think Quicktime is downloadable by itself now

Sounds like bandwidth cut off or the files not completely downloaded. It would take me ages to upload the big file. Can somoen write me a php script or tell me what to type in using shell, I dont know many commands, to snatch the file from another site. With my servers huge Internet connection it should only take a few mins at most that way.

IS there a way, using shell access or ftp, for me to download the file onto my server?

i refuse to let apple into my computer, im using 'quicktime alternative'. actually thats not entirely true, when i installed the orignal version of myst, it insalled quicktime 2.0 with it.

at any rate, it plays fine in media player classic, using one or the other.

i was smart enough to download it last night at 2am. beat the rush.

Are we still in need of a torrent of the large file?
