Broadband ?

I have some questions about this, and the first one is which provider is the best that is also with cable/dish TV and easy on the wallet.

I have Comcast High Speed and i get 6MB/sec (Usually around 2-4 MB/sec)

I've got SBC Yahoo...they're a little tough to deal with, but you get a good constant service. Just make sure you get a router that won't heat up and stop every day like I did. Major damper on DLing my bajigabytes of pr0n!

well Verizon FIOS seems like the best deal, 15 mb/s $50 :p most places don't have it so ...

i dont know if it's the same deal in the states but NTL do a phone line/tv/broadband package, except the braodband is deathly slow

im on plus.net at the mo, 2 meg at Â£15 a month which isnt bad

Problem is all their other services are really expensive.

I'd like to give you a good suggestion so here it is.

I have Comcast high speed internet, and while it's supper fast (after getting a new router) periodicly the speed will die down or stop completely. So we'd have to reset the modem. Not perfect but comsidering it's not happened for nearly a month I think it's getting better.

As for DSL, a friend of mine has it and gets speeds that rival mine. The key to his speed is that he lives right next to the distrobution point, so he gets the bulk of the bandwidth.

So if you're going to get broadband, see if you're close to the DSL distrobution point in your area, and take note that it could be as far as 17 miles away. If you're too far to get good speeds off DSL go with Cable. In the end you have to look at this as picking the lesser of two evils.

I have Telus high speed. It's pretty fast considering that I can deathmatch without lag (well, its never me making it lag). Also, I believe me HTTP download speed is around 200 kb/s. On BitTorrents I have gotten 300 kb/s,

The main reson I asked is I want to get rid of the home phone, and since the cell tower is right in front of my house my cell works great. I have the Alttel DSL but it is with the phone. I really don't care if it is cable or DSL just not dial-up I can't go back to that. Another thing I wanted to do is go wireless since I have 2 PCs and 2 PSPs.
