I was just wondering what I could dig into that might have a 7808 in it. Anybody know of things like VCR, CD Player, that kind of thing that has one or a few in it?
exactly what timmeh said. Um.. anything else I could use (find somewhere, im really short on money) to get roughly that to power the PSone screen? If not, i guess ill get a couple bucks and buy one. Thanks.
Yeah, im using 8 AA's....I know, I could just get rid of 2, but then my nifty battery holder thingys would be missing 2 batteries and they'd get lonely. Actually now that I think of it, Why don't i just get rid of 2 batteries??? hmm...yeah I think I'll do that. Save me some space and some weight. Im still curious about the different methods of getting power to the screen with (regulators, etc) though.
that's not good because the minimum input for a 7808 is around 10.2v, isn't it? just cut off 2 battery spaces and add some wire and you'll have 7.2v without a regulator
Actually I found a 2AA battery holder that I will just use to replace one of my 4AA holders. Oh yeah, when my batteries are fully charged, I get approx 11.5V from them, so I figured the 7808 would work although I dont know what the 7808 is supposed to have as far as voltage. That would be bad if it needed 10V because under load, the batteries dont output that much. Then again that wouldnt be bad because I dont need a 7808.
