Slax. Use popcorn edition. Or just regular slax.

Puppy linux and Featherlinux are also pretty small.

Well slax is cd based, its just a live slackware. Right now, I'm getting my win 98 SE disc back from my friend and dual booting linux and win98 on my older laptop. I need to get it running in three weeks with wifi for this trip though ! :/
