A couple quick questions

Ok, so im using a yobo for my nesp....

1. how would I wire my battery so that I can power the system and charge it at the same time? And without anything breaking

2. Do I need to run a power wire to both the screen and the yobo, or can I use one 7805 to power both?

3. Where would I put the headphone jack on?

1. It's a little more complex than you might think. First of all, you need to use a battery/charger that can be powered off of a DC voltage (try to find a car charger for your battery). What you need to do is integrate the charger (minus extra junk, like casing and car plug) into the case so that when you plug in a power source (that MUST, and I say MUST provide enough amperage to power your portable AND battery charger), it will cut off the batteries from the portable and connect them to the charger instead. At the same time, it must regulate the DC input down to a safe voltage for your portable guts and supply power to them. This is the only way I know of that will work for all batteries. Yes, some can be charged and power a portable at the same time, but this is limited mainly to batteries that are charged by putting reverse voltage through them (such as lead-acid car batteries).

I've made enough wiring diagrams to address this problem to satisfy a small village. In particular, check the one I did for an N64p in that section. To adapt it, simply remove the DC-DC converter and the 3.3v wire.

there are some battery packs that have a charger inside them (my DVD player battery did) that charge from 12v. if you get one of those and an 8v regulator for the screen it should be really easy

I'm using an 8.4v 3000mAh li-nh battery with a smart charger...does that mean anything?

The single 7805 powering both depends on the power usage of the two parts. The bigger the screen you use, the more power usage (in general). If you can power both within 1A roughly, then one 7805 is probably OK. You might want to attach a heatsink on the back of it (where the metal piece is) and attach a wire to satisfy the grounding.
