I've looked at Mouser, Digikey and some others. Why can't I find the typical pots that are used for volume controls and such? I've searched for "pots", "variable resistors", "trimmers". I always come up with the huge knob or cermet types. I'm looking for one that I can use in that simple audio amp circuit, which I think I remember to be 10K ohms. Thanks.
You need to search using the formal names, not the shortened term. Search for "Potentiometers" and under the results click Audio. Then click 10K ohm and hit Apply Filters. Most of those look like they'd work.

OK, that worked at Digikey. Thanks. I guess another good keyword for me to use at other sites is "thumbwheel".

I've been wanting one but have no clue what to look for.
I'll send you a PM but I'll also post it here as well. I found a good selection at Mouser. It turns out that thumbwheel is the term I was missing. Here's the product detail for a 10k 10mm thumbwheel pot: LINK
