the GC discs are proprietary, meaning they won't work in any other CD drive, I'm sure. best way would be to simply have some kind of mechanism for the disc to be kind of placed onto the spindle.
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

So that means that I cannot use another CD drive? Then how could I create that mechanism?
the GC disc drive is rather thick, though ....but if you REALLY want one, I suppose it could be done. we wouldn't be able to help you much, though, without techinally doing it ourselves .

Gamelver wrote:not really, it has it's own drive. I'm sure you COULD get a DVD drive to get it to work, like in the Panasonic Q, but it's not worth the effort.
yeah it is a dvd drive really, when you burn gamecube games you burn them to mini dvds
yes, the medium is the same, but the way the games are made is different (as in what the actual data is)...which is why it would definitely be possible to make the disc drive read DVDs, but not worth the effort to reengineer the cube to do so.
Edit: and yeah, pretty much what gannon said .
