:D Recognition!

I'm also doing my own wiki to maybe give it to others in need of making a wiki, for the kicks of it.

So you think that the way to get better themes is to install a new wiki thats separate? I agree with the more skins Idea :P

Edit: what the hell ahve oyu installed on your site!!! Also whats hte point of running oyur own wiki. Just stick it on mine. The barely made wiki has a 16mb database that each time a edit is made grows hugly especially as it has backups!

Sam, I'm not gonna bother correcting all of your spelling errors.

I'm making my own to spread it out like phpBB and making it open source.

You don't have to be an ass, I'm making my own 'wiki' for a learning experience and just in case anyone wants to rebuild it.

And just to say, your EDIT made 1% sense.

How did you determine the percentage rate :? ?

Oh, and BTW, did you know that Insert number here% of all percentages are made up on the spot?

Many hosts have a database limit of 50mb. A barely complete wiki is 16mb. Just wondering if you'd be abel to accomadate the database size. Also learn to read over spelling mistakes. I do.

Hm. I have a limit of 5000mb, but whatever works.

And yes, that is mySQL.

Would you stop putting my idea down just because you host the wiki?

Ok, thats fine. Go ahead. I am sorry I am very negative. I am against people who try to mirror what someone else is doing. AKA all those benheck forums ripoff's people try to make. I kinda did this to be the one wiki. Go ahead if you want though.

It's no problem, but you notice all you are doing currently is stealing articles from POD and benheck.com?

I actually have stolen none from PoD. I don't think other people are doing that. I have actually linked to their articles in my ones and it was suggested by Tim that that be done but it actually hasn't. Also daguuy is sort of finishing off his N64 guide and some other stuff. Stop trying to put my site down just becasue you want to host a wiki

I don't think we have stolen any benheck ones. If so they should definetly be credited at the bottom, which most people except Tim seem to have problems doing.

ok. lets take a second to calm down and remember what the point of this wiki is. we want to make a compelte, easy to search database of all knowledge of portables. one place where any person can go and learn all the knowledge that is currently only in peoples heads, and hidden among 1000 posts on the forums.

That said, i say that it is a very bad idea to start two wikis. right now, theres only 7 people who have ever edited the first one, why would we dilute that? We are nowhere near having even ONE wiki, starting two is just counterproductive.

now, i personally like the wiki skin right now - a lot, but skyone, feel free to learn how to skin up the existing wiki. if you come up with something good, we'll be happy to use it

---

oh, and we have copied information from POD, portablestreet, and the forums. whenever i copy it, i credit it, and i have definitely personally written more articles than i have copied. like i said before, the point is we are trying to collect all the information we can and make it easy to access. why write a whole article again (which can take hours) when the information is already publicly avaliable.

I agree. But I believe the current wiki skin is very formal, clear and straight forward. All the other wiki-skins that come with it are rubbish so I will have to find someone elsewhere or skyone can.
